Judges comments from the Perth Royal 2021 .

“On the back of the first wine , the 2006 estate Riesling , through the 2015 estate Riesling to the 2021 estate Riesling- this collection shows wonderful synergy and restraint from first to last ! Very classy , very slow to age and lovely , lovely wines.”

Trevelen Farm ‘The Tunney’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 - 96 Points

“24yo vines, machine-harvested, crushed and destemmed, 6 weeks on skins in tank, matured in French oak for 28 months. A wonderfully rich and complex cabernet with layers of varietal fruit, cassis/blackcurrant, plump tannins and quality French oak. It's juicy and spicy, lightening its load to medium-bodied status.”

Trevelen Farm ‘Frankland Reserve’ Shiraz 2015 - 95 Points

“Crushed and destemmed, matured in French, American and Hungarian oak for 28 months. How to make a full-bodied shiraz look like medium-bodied or less? Good question, because usually it's the other way around, and, secondly, I don't know the answer. Here there's an abundance of plum and blackberry fruit, with a scatter of spice and pepper. It never slows its movement in the mouth, never cloys for a moment, and isn't weighed down by oak or tannin.”

James Halliday - Halliday Wine Companion

Trevelen Farm Estate Riesling 2016 - 95 Points

“Fragrant citrus blossom lifts gently on the bouquet, the palate overflowing with sweet lime juice, lemon and green apple, finishing with firm acidity providing length and balance, and scotching any thought of residual sugar that the sweet fruit might suggest. The '07 Aged Release gives you a guide to its longevity.”

Trevelen Farm Estate Riesling 2018 - 95 Points

“One of the finest Riesling producers in the state. And this is another ripper. Lemon, orange zest on the nose with a delightfully pure & crisp palate. Not as austere as some of the earlier Rieslings from here, and as a result very approachable as a young wine. A little spice and minerality completes an excellent wine.”

"Trevelen Farm is a family–run business based on environmentally sustainable principles both in the home vineyard and at the various vineyards used in the northern part of the Great Southern. Riesling continues to be a strong variety for this producer, the recent development of the reds has been most impressive..."
